Question 1

Triumph Bonneville T120 vs T100?

Accepted Answer

T120 (triumph bonneville t120, 1200 cc / 79 hp, ~18k US with Bonneville) is the 1200 twin. T100 is the milder 900-class Bonnie. Sit — torque and weight are not the same bike with different paint.

Question 2

Bonneville T120 vs T120 Black?

Accepted Answer

Black is the blacked-out trim. Same motor conversation. Buy the one whose pipes you can live with in a HOA.

Question 3

T120 reliability / shaft?

Accepted Answer

Chain drive, not shaft. Triumph 1200 High Torque is a known, serviceable twin. A cheap T120 with a flashing ABS light is a dealer visit, not a weekend gasket.

Question 4

Bonneville T120 a good first bike?

Accepted Answer

Power is friendly. Weight and the look-at-me factor are the beginner issues. A Street Twin/Speed 400 is easier; a T120 is the one people keep.
